The first is the original that I took down in the Cape. I took a couple other pictures and cropped the seashell and toys out. I am not a fan of it because I could not get the toys and shells not to have a different color brown. Also I was looking for a sun or something else and I could not find one in my pictures from the Cape.

  1. I like what you did in this picture. I agree with you about changing the shells color. I too struggled with trying to change the color of something. I ended up just changing my picture due to frustration.

  2. Paula- I think it might have worked better to actually select the shells and toys with perhaps the magic wand (since your object and background are significantly different colors) rather than just crop. I find it really hard to find two backgrounds that are the exact same color - much more convincing if you remove the background from your objects you want to add. Great first try and an adorable subject.

  4. To expand on Mary's comment, there is also a marquee tool that selects objects that are slightly different colors than the background, it is paired with the other marquee tool, you just have to right click it to get it (in photoshop)
